Schedule
The Schedule tab is a timeline of everything with a date on it.
Open the dashboard and pick Schedule. The page title is today's weekday, with the date and a count of dated deadlines under it.
Below that is one list, Deadlines, in date order:
- Items that are already late come first, each marked with how many days overdue it is.
- A line with the current time marks now.
- Everything due today or later follows, labelled Today or with its day and date, such as "Fri, Oct 30".
A long list comes in pages of 100 rows. Each row has the item in bold and, under it, whose move it is:
| Label | Means |
|---|---|
| You owe Dana | Something you owe Dana: a promise you made or a request she made |
| Sam owes you | Something you're waiting on from Sam |
| Your priority | A priority you gave a date |
When no open items have a date, the page says "No dated deadlines recorded." It never fills the space with guesses.
The tab shows a note saying "No calendar connected. Pepper can't see your meetings yet."
Dates get onto the schedule in four ways:
- From a message. When Pepper finds something owed in a chat, such as Mira writing "I'll send the contract by Friday", it keeps the date if the message gives one. A date has to fit the message it came from: one far in the past or more than a year out is dropped, and the item stays undated.
- From you. Tell Pepper in Telegram, "remind me to call Theo Thursday", and the task gets that date. A date
with no time is due at the first time in
PEPPER_DIGEST_TIMES, so the reminder and the brief (the summary Pepper sends three times a day) arrive together. If that time has passed today, the task is due at the next brief, or about an hour from now. - From a reply. Answering a brief with "3 friday" moves item 3 to Friday. On a task you gave Pepper, the Tomorrow button on its Follow-ups row moves the date to tomorrow instead of hiding it.
- From a priority. A priority with a date shows here as well.
Only open items show. Something marked done, dismissed, or snoozed leaves the schedule; a snoozed item comes back when its snooze ends.
An item that is waiting in Review, the tab where you confirm what Pepper found, is not on the schedule yet, even if it has a date. Once you choose Track it, it appears here on its day.
Every date is read in your time zone, the one set as PEPPER_TZ in your .env during
install. A due date with no time belongs to that whole day, so "due Friday" shows on your
Friday, never a day early. If the schedule looks a day off, check PEPPER_TZ first.
The overdue count is in whole days. An item due yesterday says "1d overdue" all day today.
The Schedule tab is for looking. To close, move or dismiss an item, open Follow-ups, where each row has Done (or Got it), Tomorrow and Not a task. You can also reply to a brief in Telegram. See Follow-ups for what each one does.
The briefs use the same records. A brief lists a few of the things that need you, dated or not, with due dates and overdue marks; this tab lists every open item that has a date. See Briefs.
People and memory
Pepper keeps a short record of the people in the chats you connect: who they are, what's open with them, and a few useful facts.
Review
Review is the dashboard tab where you check what Pepper isn't sure about. When it finds something in the chats you connect that might be a task, a fact about someone, or a decision, it proposes it…
